Boston Event Works   ::   Lansdowne

Boston has no lack of great bands, but very few leave the lasting impression of Lansdowne.
Rock/Alternative/Pop

Boston-based Lansdowne, armed with an undying passion for performance, has burst onto the music scene with a sound and story that tells of a dramatic past and a relentlessly energetic present. Formed in January 2006, Lansdowne is Jon Ricci (vocals, lyrics), Shaun Lichtenstein (guitars), and Tom Sargent (bass). The name originates from the legendary Boston street cradled between historic Fenway Park, and the clubs that have been home to generations of music.

The band's debut record, "Leaving Boston," was recorded only weeks after the band's inception and released in late June of 2006. This 5 song EP was produced, mixed, and recorded by Jonathan Wyman (As Fast As, Ray LaMontagne, Rustic Overtones) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Nirvana, The Rolling Stones).

"The hardworking band, whose music can be described as alternative pop rock, is crisp and pounding with sharp vocals and blending harmonies." - Dennis Shaughnessey, Lowell Sun

"Leaving Boston is a fantastic radio-ready rock EP that sounds ready to trigger a huge creative leap in the near future....Continued perseverance and creative advancement will put Lansdowne on the map in a big way...Boston has no lack of great bands, but very few leave the lasting impression of Lansdowne." - Tony Pascarella, Album Reviewer for AbsolutePunk.net

"I heard this band getting a lot of love from some forum users here on AP, and after getting a copy of their EP, I am quite impressed as well. For a band that has been together exactly one year, their sound has a ton of maturity and soul. Along with Fly Upright Kite, it shows that there is more than Sam Adams coming out of Boston." - Steve Henderson, AbsolutePunk.net
